Khary Ato Zebilum Tucker, otherwise known as Zebilum to the music industry, comes from a musically talented family which hails from Trench Town. Zebilum's breakout single, Nah Sop Try, is now being distributed by VP Records, and will appear on the singer's album which will be released later this year.
He was born at the University Of The West Indies, discharged to hometown Independence City, Miami Drive on September 22, 1974. The name Zebilum is the name of an African tribe from Ethiopia. From a tender age music was in his surroundings. He was always willing to perform at small functions put on my family and friends. His mother and father were members of the 12 tribe of Israel, along with Bob Marley, Little Roy (Zebilum’s godfather), among others. At the age of 15 while attending Camperdown High School, Zebilum was captain of their Colts under 16 football team and also a member of their Manning Cup football team. Zebilum’s mother migrated to make the livity possible while his father kept the energy of existence going for them at home. Travelling back and forth to visit his family in various parts of Jamaica and observing the craft of salesmanship from his uncle Delano Tucker, singing and dancing to the reggae superstar Bob Marley at home as part of the daily menu, one day Zebilum took it up on myself to be independent. He migrated to the United States in the late 90’s, and using both street and tertiary age knowledge, formed Street People Entertainment Inc. in the late 90’s, first signing the artist Jermain Cole aka ‘Slinky Sharp’, who later died in a car tragedy, which was a big setback for the family member. Stepping up production on the label, Zebilum did his first recording ‘Nah Build No Enemy’ in 2002, which was released as his first single on the Street People label. Then came the Unification riddim. Other artistes were later signed to the company which include Steven Tucker aka ‘Googs Tuckah’ and Nicholas Beckford aka ‘Nikki Silk’. Formula One Production later came into existence, which dropped Zebilum’s latest single ‘Nah Stop Try earlier this year and that is what they mean. ‘Nah Stop Try’ is produced by Mr. T and Sidney Mills (of Steel Pulse fame).
